2011-2012 GESPA Policies for Parent Fundraising

The GES Parents Association sponsors many fundraising activities throughout the academic year. While promoting school spirit, we enthusiastically support the school, its mission, and special GES and Parents' Association projects and functions.

The Parents' Association cooperates closely with the school's Development Office to coordinate fundraising efforts according to best practices and in furtherance of the School Board-directed priorities for the school. This can take the shape of supplementing school budgets with funds to provide additional community services or finance the construction of community enhancements such as a new brick walkway or community flagpole. We seek to fund classroom and co-curricular enrichment opportunities, such as providing infrastructural support for a mobile computer lab or construction of a turf field on the GES playground. We delight in funding faculty and administration "wish lists" when possible – all of the foregoing helping to bridge the gap between what tuition monies provide and the true cost of a GES education.

There is something for everyone: we consciously seek to offer programs of interest to a wide variety of constituents, on an ongoing or rotating basis throughout the entire academic year, and at all levels of giving so as to allow for maximum participation. Our fundraising programs are ultimately designed to benefit the students – the young people at the heart of our school family - as directly as possible.
