Parents Association

Welcome to the Grace Episcopal School Parents Association (GESPA). GESPA families have chosen Grace Episcopal School because we place a great value on our children's education. All parents are automatically GESPA members; there are no dues and we do not have mandatory volunteer hours/requirements. However, to be successful – we need you!

GESPA has many purposes and a full slate of activities throughout the academic year. We promote school spirit and camaraderie among parents through fellowship at annual events such as the Summer Social, the Fall Family Picnic, the Halloween Party, and the Talent Show. We manage multiple fundraisers, with the annual "Grace Cup" Golf Tournament and Gala/Auction typically raising substantial money for the school. We are proud to have been able to support our school as a result through provision of infrastructural improvements such as an artificial turf field, security cameras, picnic tables, a climbing tunnel on the early childhood playground and support of the new brick walkway and flagpole fundraising drive.

Outreach is another critical GESPA function. Parents help coordinate worthwhile projects such as the Carpenter's Shelter dinners and the sock and mitten tree donations to help children in need get through the cold winter months. GESPA parents stuff overflowing Christmas stockings for children at the N Street Mission, and help keep the Thanksgiving spirit alive via the annual "Tom the Turkey" food collection.

Please join us and get involved with GESPA, or consider deepening your commitment if you are already active. There are so many ways to participate, with something for everyone and opportunities that fit every schedule. The Parents Association meets regularly during the school year. Please check the school calendar and the monthly school newsletter for meeting notices. Do not hesitate to contact a GESPA Officer if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Christine Washington
