Application Checklist and Important Dates

Preschool and Junior Kindergarten

Applications for our Preschool and Junior Kindergarten classes are due January 17th in order to be considered for admission.  After, applications will be considered under a rolling admissions basis. 

Kindergarten through Grade Five

Applications for our Kindergarten through Grade 5 classes are due February 3rd in order to be considered for admission.  Applications submitted after February 1st will be considered under a rolling admissions basis. Our Admissions Committee meets in late February and applicant families in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade are notified on March 6 at 4 pm by email and by mail soon after. 

*Age Requirements: Please note that your child must 5 years old prior to September 1 to be eligible for our full-day Kindergarten. Our half-day Junior Kindergarten program is for young 5-year-olds and older 4-year-olds. Our half-day Preschool class is for young 4-year-olds and older 3-year-olds. Your child must be 3 years old prior to September 1 to be eligible for Preschool and 4 years old prior to September 1 to be eligible for Junior Kindergarten.

Open House Dates

Grace Episcopal School will hold three Open Houses.  One will be on Monday, November 11, 2019 and the next will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020.  These drop in programs will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Classes will be in session and tours, led by Parent and Student Ambassors, will be available. 

Our last Open House, on Thursday, April 16, 2020, is a preview event (Glimpse of Grace) for families interested in admission for the 2020-2021 school year.

Tour with Us Tuesdays

Beginning Tuesday, September 24th, please join Admissions Director, Amanda Hungerford, on a tour of our campus while classes are in session.  No reservations are required.  Please ring the school office on the key pad to the right of the glass doors and let our office staff know that you are here for the tour.   Tours will be available every Tuesday that classes are in session.  No tours will be available on 12/24/19, 12/31/19, or 3/24/20.

Application Checklist

The following steps are necessary in order for the Admissions Committee to consider your child's application to Grace Episcopal School.

  • Schedule a parent tour of the school.
  • Complete an online application or return a completed paper application to the school, along with a $75 non-refundable application fee.
  • Schedule admissions testing, where applicable:
  • Children applying to Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten are required to take the WPPSI test. 
  • Children over six and applicants to Grades 1-5 are required to take the WISC-IV test. Test results should be sent directly to Grace Episcopal School. Additional testing information may be found in our application packet.
  • Preschool applicants do not require testing.
  • Give the confidential teacher recommendation form and the records release form to your child's current teacher and school office.
  • Once the file is complete, our Admissions Office will schedule a classroom visit or play date for your child.

The application deadline is February 3rd, with all supporting paperwork due by February 10th.
